• What cyber security services does Chorus offer?

  We offer managed cyber security services, including MDR and MXDR, delivered by our in-house SOC, cyber security consultancy, data protection and information governance consultancy, and Cyber Essentials support. All of our cyber security services are designed to work with Microsoft security technologies.

• Do you offer 24/7 cyber security monitoring?

  Yes, the Chorus SOC provides 24/7 managed detection and response through our MDR and MXDR services, so threats are monitored and dealt with around the clock, not just during office hours.

• What size of organisation does Chorus work with?

  We mainly support SMEs and mid-market organisations, and can work across all sectors. For managed cyber security services specifically, that typically means organisations with between 20 to 3,000 users, though we can support organisations outside that range where our service model still fits. Our consultancy and Cyber Essentials services work for organisations of any size.

• What is a Microsoft Security Partner?

  A Microsoft Security Partner is a company Microsoft has accredited to deliver Microsoft technology and services to a set standard. It requires technical certifications, customer evidence and proven success. Chorus holds all key Microsoft Security badges from Security designation to Advanced Specialisations in Threat Protection and Cloud Security, and at the highest-level is a Microsoft Elite Security Partner and member of the Microsoft Intelligent Security Association (MISA). Our SOC services have been accredited and technically validated by Microsoft to give us Microsoft-verified MXDR solution status.

• What Microsoft security technologies does Chorus use?

  Our cyber security services and solutions are built on Microsoft’s security platform, including tools such as:

  • Microsoft Defender XDR: endpoint, identity, email and cloud threat detection and response, forming the foundation of our MDR and MXDR services.
  • Microsoft Sentinel: a cloud-native SIEM and SOAR platform that gives our CSOC greater visibility, threat hunting capabilities and automated response across your environment.
  • Microsoft Purview: the technology behind our data protection, information governance, data loss prevention (DLP) and compliance consultancy services.
  • Microsoft Entra ID: identity and access management, including multi-factor authentication, Conditional Access and Zero Trust security controls.

• How much do cyber security services cost?

  Yes, Chorus operates as both an MSP and an MSSP, so you can get managed IT services and managed cyber security from one provider. A lot of IT providers only offer basic, bundled security rather than a dedicated Security Operations Centre (SOC) with MDR and MXDR. • What's the difference between cyber security services and IT security services?

  There isn’t one. Cyber security services and IT security services are two names for the same thing, where we protect your systems, data and users from threats. We use both terms, and our services cover everything either implies.

• What's the difference between managed cyber security services and cyber security consultancy?

  Managed cyber security services are ongoing. Our SOC monitors and responds 24/7 to threats on your behalf. Cyber security consultancy is project-based, where our consultants can help you plan and implement your security strategy, then hand it over to your team (or to our managed services if you want ongoing support).

• Can we get a security assessment before committing to projects or ongoing support?

  Yes, we offer cyber security assessments, including a two-week, non-intrusive review of your identities, devices, applications, infrastructure, network and data. You’ll receive a full report and clear next steps at the end, so you know where to focus first. This includes our Microsoft threat check, a security assessment that uses your Microsoft 365 security tools to spot threats and misconfigurations. We also offer that on its own, as a quicker health check of your Microsoft environment.

  Both can help you understand your baseline security posture, before deciding what further support you need.

• Where does Chorus provide cyber security services?

  We’re Bristol-based with more than 25 years of local presence in the area, and we deliver cyber security services to organisations across the whole of the UK and internationally.
