Proud to be supporting BRACE Dementia Research
Living by our values
Supporting our local community, giving back and making a positive impact is a core part of our culture at Chorus and a key part of one of our values “Enjoy the Journey”. We carry out regular fundraising activities each year and we like to all group together to support one main charity of year – our charity of the year.
Choosing a charity to support is always difficult with so many out there, and business support vital to charities. To make this as fair as possible, we ask all staff at Chorus to nominate a charity that is close to their hearts and the reason why they have nominated them. This shortlist is then sent to all staff for a vote – with the charity with the most votes becoming our charity of the year! This year we are proud to be supporting BRACE Dementia Research.
About BRACE Dementia Research
Dementia is the number one cause of death in the UK; however it is critically underfunded – receiving five times less funding than cancer research.
BRACE funds world class clinical and laboratory research into Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia to find better treatments, achieve earlier diagnosis and one day, a cure.
Supporting BRACE Dementia Research
We love taking on different challenges to raise money. In the past we’ve done sky dives, cake sales, raft racing, quizzes and much more. All of this is led by our charity committee at Chorus who organise activities and events throughout the year and get everyone involved.
We wanted to start the year strong so had an early fundraiser in November – five brave explorers went to the Scottish Highlands to hike, canoe and wild camp in the wilderness. Faced with the cold, rain and carrying everything they needed on their backs, it was a wild adventure and not without its challenges. The team managed to run into some trouble early on and capsized their canoes within minutes of setting off! Luckily they adapted and overcame the challenges, regrouped and overall had an excellent adventure. More importantly, they managed to raise over £1,000! Well done to Keith, Ant, Conor, Mark and Marcus.

Coming up next is a cake sale – not just any cakes though it’s a festive Muffin Bake Off. With plenty more in the works, we’ll be sharing all our fundraisers over on our LinkedIn page – follow along to see what we do!
