Women remain significantly underrepresented in the technology sector, holding only around 21% of technical roles. At Chorus, we believe this must change and as a female-led business, we’re committed to playing an active role in driving that change both within our organisation and across the wider tech community.

Our Commitment to Women in Tech: Driving inclusion at Chorus
Creating a culture where women can succeed
Our commitment starts with building a strong, inclusive culture where everyone feels valued and empowered. We know that representation matters, so we have a real focus on shining a spotlight on the women in our business – sharing their stories, amplifying their voices, and ensuring they are visible role models for future generations. Through regular content, internal communications, and participation in industry conversations, we actively speak up about the importance of equality, diversity and inclusion.
EDI is not a side initiative for us; it is baked into our culture. We’ve developed a comprehensive EDI programme that includes an active EDI Committee, structured training for managers, and EDI focused onboarding for new starters. These foundations help us create an environment where diverse perspectives are welcomed, and everyone (regardless of gender) has fair access to opportunities and support.
Our 2026 commitments: Turning intent into action
To continue making meaningful progress, we have set out clear commitments for 2026 across three key areas: recruitment, awareness and learning, and inclusion.
Recruitment
We believe inclusive hiring is essential for increasing gender representation in tech. This year, we are:
- Introducing blind CVs to help reduce the potential for bias and ensure candidates are assessed fairly.
- Reviewing and improving our job ads and listings to appeal to a broader and more diverse talent pool.
- Evaluating and enhancing our application processes so they are accessible, welcoming, and free from unnecessary barriers.
Awareness & Learning
We’re committed to learning from others and sharing our own experiences. In 2026, we will:
- Attend Women in Tech and Women in Business events to strengthen our knowledge and networks.
- Participate in school talks to highlight the breadth of opportunities available to girls considering future tech careers.
- Publish articles, insights, and thought leadership on the value of women in tech – keeping the conversation going all year, not just on awareness days.
Inclusion
Representation alone isn’t enough, retention and progression matter just as much. That’s why we will:
- Continue supporting our EDI Committee and dedicating time and resources to meaningful EDI initiatives.
- Celebrate key cultural and awareness events that promote inclusivity and community.
- Provide ongoing EDI training to both managers and employees to strengthen understanding and build an inclusive working environment.
Conclusion
At Chorus, we believe in creating a future where women can step confidently into tech careers, progress into leadership, and feel fully supported along the way. These commitments are just the start, and we’re excited to keep driving forward positive change within our organisation and across the industry.
