Our approach to sustainability at Chorus

Earth Day takes place every year on 22 April. What began in 1970 as a grassroots movement has grown into a global moment of reflection and action. At Chorus, we see it as a chance to pause and consider the progress we’ve made, and where we can improve further, as sustainability is an important part of our company culture.

What we're doing at Chorus to be more sustainable

Planting trees with Ecologi

We’ve partnered with Ecologi and planted 14,494 trees so far. We plant a tree for every sale, staff birthday, and employee milestone. Each tree helps absorb carbon, supports biodiversity and wildlife, and creates more green spaces. You can view our Ecologi profile here.

WEEE recycling for old tech

When our devices reach the end of their life, we ensure they’re properly recycled. This prevents harmful materials from entering the environment and allows valuable components to be recovered and reused rather than wasted.

Donating hardware to charities and schools

If equipment still works, we pass it on. This reduces e-waste and helps local organisations and schools access tech they might not otherwise afford.

Everyday recycling

We recycle glass, plastics, metal, cardboard and paper across our offices. It’s a small habit that helps reduce landfill waste, cut pollution, and give materials another use.

Repurposing equipment internally

Before buying new laptops or phones, we check what we already have. If something can be refreshed or reassigned, we do it, cutting down on waste and unnecessary spend.

Using a green energy supplier

We source our electricity from renewable providers. This lowers our carbon footprint and supports the shift to cleaner energy.

Supporting greener travel

We’ve installed an electric vehicle charging point to support staff who want to drive EVs. A small step, but one in the right direction.

Sustainability is an ongoing process. It’s not something you finally achieve but an ongoing commitment. We’re proud of the steps we’ve taken so far, but we’re always looking to do more and encourage everyone else – companies and individuals – to do the same. If you have any great ideas, we’d love to hear them – please contact us.

Happy Earth Day!
