Microsoft quietly remove Power App per App plan... and add it back!

Updated 27th April 2026. It was removed… and now it’s back!

In January 2026, Microsoft quietly this subscription from the licensing guide without any communications, simply stating: “The Power Apps per App Plan was removed from the January 2026 licensing guide and is no longer available for new purchases.”

However, from April 2026 the SKU has since been re-introduced for CSP licensing users. This means that customers can add, remove and renew this licence – and also new customers can purchase this licence too. When it was announced it was going to be removed, organisations had to consider moving to either:

  • Power Apps Premium – best for organisations that would like one licence for a user but with unlimited apps they can run
  • Pay-As-You-Go – best for organisations that would like an individual user to run one app

Luckily, this is no longer the case. The original Microsoft post that has been edited to update CSP subscriptions can be found in this announcement post.
