Operations Director, Silvey FleetSecurity has never been something we have viewed as a tick-box exercise. As our business and technology have evolved, we have worked closely with Chorus to make sure security is built into the way we operate and into the decisions we make. We are always looking at how we can improve, stay ahead of emerging risks and follow best practice, rather than simply reacting when something changes. That approach has given us confidence that our technological environment is secure, resilient and able to support the business as we continue to grow.
A partnership built over time
As one of Chorus’ longest standing customers, Silvey Fleet and Chorus began working together nearly 20 years ago, when Chorus started delivering managed IT services to Silvey Fleet as their new MSP.
Rather than following a single transformation programme, support has evolved steadily over time in line with changing business priorities and advancements in technology.
Throughout that journey, the leadership team at Silvey Fleet has taken a pragmatic and forward thinking approach to IT, trusting advice from Chorus and supporting change when it made sense for the business.
Silvey Fleet take a genuine partnership led approach. There’s a strong level of trust that allows us to discuss ideas openly, work through challenges together, and agree the right way forward on both technology and security.

Making the most of Microsoft 365
A major focus of the relationship has been modernising collaboration and information management through Microsoft 365. With support from Chorus, legacy file shares were replaced with a modern structured SharePoint Online environment designed around ownership, access requirements and data sensitivity, rather than just a ‘lift and shift’ migration.
That foundation was extended through projects such as lifecycle management for HR data to reduce risk, and automation and document processing with translation, helping Silvey Fleet improve consistency and productivity with international content. To support adoption, Chorus also delivered SharePoint training, ensuring teams were confident using the platform day to day.
Cloud transformation with Azure
As part of a broader cloud first shift, Silvey Fleet transitioned from on premise infrastructure to Microsoft Azure. Guidance from Chorus helped shape an approach that made use of SaaS and PaaS services where appropriate, rather than defaulting to infrastructure only (IaaS) migration.
Secure Azure based integrations were introduced along the way, with platform design decisions consistently prioritising security from the outset.
Security as a shared priority
Recognising the importance of cyber security and protecting their customers’ sensitive data, Silvey Fleet have put a lot of emphasis into reducing risk and ensuring compliance.
Early security hardening and adoption of managed SOC services, combined with strong engagement from Silvey Fleet, has helped maintain a mature security posture and achieve Cyber Essentials Plus.
Treated as a priority, security decisions are discussed openly and acted on, making it easier for Chorus to recommend improvements and move forward with confidence as threats evolve.
Security has remained a constant focus throughout the relationship. They’ve always taken security very seriously.

Improving business processes with Dynamics 365
Microsoft Dynamics 365 has played a key role in streamlining sales and account management processes over time at Silvey. Modernisation of their CRM was required, so Chorus migrated Silvey from Dynamics CRM (on premise) to Dynamics 365 (online), working closely with Silvey Fleet to redesign workflows, introduce clearer processes and remove long standing workarounds.
Improvements included more structured and streamlined sales and account management processes, new automated credit checking and approval functionality using integrations with credit providers, and greater automation of lead allocation for the telesales agents and customer journeys for account managers.
Building a Microsoft-first cloud-first strategy
Silvey Fleet have consistently taken a proactive approach to technology modernisation, adopting Microsoft cloud technologies earlier than many organisations of a similar size. That early investment has paid off over time, laying the foundations for a stable, secure and dependable IT environment that can evolve alongside the business.
By aligning their platforms to best practices and taking a long‑term view of technology decisions, Silvey Fleet have been able to reduce complexity, minimise IT and security incidents and build an IT function that reliably supports day‑to‑day operations.
Silvey Fleet are a strong example of how to approach technology decision‑making proactively. They’ve always understood the value that thoughtful IT transformation and security can deliver. By adopting Microsoft cloud technologies in a strategic way and aligning to best practice, Silvey have built a reliable environment that supports the business securely. It’s been a genuine partnership over many years, with a high level of mutual respect on both sides.

Continuing to evolve
With a strong Microsoft-centric technology foundation now in place, further improvements continue to be approached collaboratively. New IT and security initiatives are shaped through discussion, with trust on both sides and a shared focus on doing things to best practice together.
With years of shared experience and a strong Microsoft foundation, the focus remains on helping the business move forward confidently and securely.
As AI continues to develop at pace, Silvey Fleet are now exploring how AI can be adopted safely and securely across the organisation.
Working collaboratively with Chorus, they are assessing opportunities to combine Microsoft 365 with modern AI platforms, including Anthropic’s Claude, while maintaining the same focus on security, governance and best practice that has underpinned their technology strategy to date.
Operations Director, Silvey FleetOur relationship with Chorus has developed over many years, and that longevity is important because they understand our business, our systems and our appetite for change. We want to be best in class in the way we protect our customers, our people and our data, and Chorus challenge us to keep improving rather than standing still. The combination of their technical expertise and our close involvement means security is considered from the outset of projects and remains an ongoing priority as the threat landscape evolves.
